Last updated: 2026-08-05 PRIVACY POLICY — DISTRACTMAP WEEKLY DistractMap Weekly is a focus-awareness tool designed to help you understand your concentration patterns. We believe privacy is essential to that mission—your distraction data belongs to you, not to us. DATA WE COLLECT DistractMap Weekly audits: — Which apps you open and switch to during your week (app names, time of day, duration) — Which notifications arrive and when (notification source apps, delivery timestamps) — Your device's Focus Mode status and toggling (when you activate/deactivate Focus, which profile) — Your manual notes and tags when you label distraction patterns (optional, user-entered text) We do NOT collect your app content, messages, browsing history, passwords, location, contacts, photos, or any data *inside* your apps. We only observe that an app was opened and when. DATA STORAGE — ON-DEVICE FIRST All collection and processing happens on your device using Apple's built-in ScreenTime and Focus frameworks. Your distraction audit is computed locally. For the free tier and Pro tier, your weekly digest history and drill-down data remain entirely on your device—we never access it, transmit it, or store it on our servers. The Pro tier's Shortcuts-triggered Focus Mode integration runs on-device. You control which Focus profiles Shortcuts may activate via iOS system permissions. WHAT WE DON'T DO We do not send your app usage data, notification log, or distraction fingerprint to our servers. We do not use analytics SDKs (like Firebase, Amplitude, or Mixpanel) that would track your behavior. We do not sell or share your data with third parties. We do not correlate your distraction patterns across devices or create a persistent user profile. We do not use your data for advertising targeting. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES DistractMap Weekly uses only Apple's native frameworks (ScreenTime, Focus, UserNotifications, WidgetKit). We do not integrate third-party SDKs. If you subscribe to Pro via in-app purchase, Apple processes your payment and manages your subscription status—see Apple's privacy policy for their handling of payment data. ACCOUNT & SUBSCRIPTION DATA Free tier: no account required. Your data stays entirely on your device with no server component. Pro tier ($2.99/month): You authenticate via Apple's App Store subscription system. Apple handles billing and subscription state. We store only your subscription status (active/lapsed/cancelled) to serve you the correct feature set. We do not create a personal account, username, or profile. We do not store a history of your subscription beyond current status. DATA RETENTION & DELETION Free tier: your weekly digests persist until you manually delete the app or clear app data. You can delete any weekly digest individually from the app. Pro tier: same on-device retention, plus your subscription status persists until you cancel your subscription in App Store settings. If you delete the DistractMap Weekly app, all your local data is removed immediately (controlled by iOS). There is nothing stored on our servers to delete. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY We may update this policy if we add features that affect data handling (e.g., cloud sync). We will notify you within the app and update the date above. Continued use of DistractMap Weekly after changes constitutes your acceptance.
