Terms of Service Last updated: April 23, 2026 1. About Potluck Coordinator Potluck Coordinator is an iOS app that helps groups organize shared meals and potluck events. Hosts generate a join code or QR code and share it with guests. Guests join the event and claim what they're bringing — including dietary flags, serving size, guest count, and optional photo attachments. The app syncs claims in real time across devices via Apple CloudKit. Potluck Coordinator is built by Loud Unicorn LLC. No account or email registration is required to use the app. 2. Who Can Use Potluck Coordinator Potluck Coordinator is intended for users aged 13 and older. By using the app, you confirm that you are at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, you represent that you have obtained parental or guardian consent to use the app and agree to these Terms. 3. Permitted Uses - Create and host potluck events with a join code - Invite guests by sharing a join code, QR code, or deep link - Claim, unclaim, and update items you're bringing to an event - Add dietary flags, serving size, guest count, notes, and photos to items - RSVP to events and view guest attendance - Access recurring event templates and seasonal templates (Premium) - Use the home screen widget to view unclaimed items for upcoming events 4. Prohibited Uses - Creating events intended to mislead, defraud, or harm other users - Uploading photos or content that is illegal, offensive, or violates third-party rights - Reverse engineering, decompiling, or tampering with the app - Automating event creation or claim actions via scripts or bots - Sharing Premium features with users who have not paid (Premium is tied to the host's Apple ID) - Using the app in ways that violate Apple's App Store Guidelines 5. CloudKit and Data Sync Potluck Coordinator uses Apple CloudKit to sync event and item data across devices in real time. Event data — including event names, item lists, dietary flags, guest RSVPs, and photos — is stored in Apple's CloudKit public database and is accessible to anyone with the event's join code. By creating or joining an event, you understand that: - Event data is stored in Apple's CloudKit infrastructure - Anyone with the join code can access the event, view items, and claim spots - You should not include sensitive personal information in event names, item names, or notes - Hosts can lock or archive events at any time to freeze further edits Potluck Coordinator does not operate its own backend servers. All data is stored in Apple CloudKit under Apple's privacy practices (apple.com/privacy). 6. Premium — One-Time Purchase Potluck Coordinator offers an optional one-time in-app purchase via Apple's App Store (StoreKit 2): Premium unlock: $4.99 (one-time, Product ID: com.loudunicorn.potluckcoordinator.premium) Premium unlocks for the host: - Unlimited hosted events (free tier: 3 lifetime events) - Photo attachments on items - Seasonal event templates (Super Bowl, Thanksgiving, Lunar New Year, Cookie Exchange, Friendsgiving) - Shareable visual event card - Recurring event scheduling Guests are always free. The Premium purchase is tied to the host's Apple ID and can be restored on any device signed in to the same Apple ID. Refunds: Refunds are handled by Apple according to their refund policy. Contact Apple Support to request a refund. We do not process refunds directly. Restore Purchases: Tap "Restore Purchases" to reactivate Premium on a new device. 7. Apple's Standard EULA In addition to these Terms, your use of Potluck Coordinator is governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA), which you can read here: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/ If there is a conflict between these Terms and Apple's EULA, Apple's EULA prevails. 8. User Content When you add item names, notes, photos, or other content to an event, you retain ownership of that content but grant Loud Unicorn LLC a limited license to store and display it within the app (via CloudKit) for the purpose of providing the service. You are solely responsible for the content you submit. You agree not to upload content that: - Is illegal, defamatory, harassing, or threatening - Infringes on the intellectual property or privacy rights of others - Contains malware, spam, or automated scripting - Violates Apple's App Store Guidelines We reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms or applicable law. 9. Intellectual Property Potluck Coordinator, including its design, code, graphics, and user interface, is owned by Loud Unicorn LLC and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from Potluck Coordinator. 10. Disclaimer of Warranties Potluck Coordinator is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that: - The app will function without interruption or errors - CloudKit sync will always be instantaneous or available - Event data will be preserved indefinitely (CloudKit subject to Apple's data retention policies) - The app is free from bugs or security vulnerabilities 11. Limitation of Liability To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Loud Unicorn LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of Potluck Coordinator. Our total aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or $10 USD if you have paid nothing. 12. Indemnification You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Loud Unicorn LLC from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses arising out of your use of Potluck Coordinator, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights. 13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles. Disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts in Maricopa County, Arizona, USA. 14. Arbitration Agreement and Class Action Waiver Agreement to Arbitrate: You and Loud Unicorn LLC agree that any dispute arising out of these Terms or your use of Potluck Coordinator (except IP or injunctive relief claims) will be resolved by binding arbitration under AAA Consumer Arbitration Rules. Class Action Waiver: All proceedings will be on an individual basis — no class actions or consolidated proceedings. Opt-Out: You may opt out within 30 days of first use by emailing maxthemoltbot@gmail.com with your name and a clear opt-out statement. 15. GDPR — Additional Terms for EU/EEA Users Data Controller: Loud Unicorn LLC (maxthemoltbot@gmail.com) is the data controller. Legal Basis: Contractual necessity (Art. 6(1)(b)) for event sync; consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) for photo uploads. Your Rights: Access, rectify, erase, restrict, port, and object. Contact maxthemoltbot@gmail.com. Data Transfers: Event data stored in Apple CloudKit under Apple's GDPR commitments and Standard Contractual Clauses. Withdrawing Consent: Delete your events or uninstall the app at any time. 16. CCPA/CPRA — Additional Terms for California Residents We do not sell or share your personal information. You have the right to know, delete, and correct. Contact maxthemoltbot@gmail.com to exercise rights. We will not discriminate against you for exercising CCPA/CPRA rights. 17. Termination We reserve the right to suspend access to Potluck Coordinator if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. Uninstalling does not delete event data stored in CloudKit — hosts can manually archive or delete events within the app before uninstalling. 18. Changes to These Terms We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notice. Continued use constitutes acceptance. 19.
