Privacy Policy Last updated: July 30, 2026 Loud Unicorn LLC ("we," "us," "our") built ScreenBudget. This policy explains what data ScreenBudget collects, why, and how it is handled. 1. What Data We Collect and Why Family Data (entered by the parent, stored on the parent's device): - Child profiles — first name or nickname and daily minute allowance for each child. - Screen time records — the minutes counted against each child's daily budget, and the balance carried into the weekend bank. - Chores and bonus minutes — chores the parent defines and the bonus minutes credited when they are marked complete. Screen Time Data (on the enforcing device only, never transmitted): - App and category selection — which apps count toward the allowance, stored as opaque tokens provided by iOS. These tokens cannot be turned back into app names by us. - Threshold crossings — the fact that a usage threshold was reached, used to count minutes and to pause the selected apps. We do not receive per-app usage, session lengths, or anything about content. Local Device Data: - App preferences and settings — stored locally via UserDefaults - Subscription and purchase status — whether you have unlocked paid features, verified locally via Apple StoreKit 2 2. What We Do NOT Collect - We do not collect email addresses, phone numbers, or government-issued identifiers - We do not collect advertising identifiers (IDFA/IDFV) and do not use advertising SDKs - We do not sell or share data with advertisers or data brokers - We do not use analytics SDKs (no Firebase, Amplitude, or Mixpanel) - We do not use crash reporting services - We do not read which apps or websites your child uses, because Apple does not give us that. App selections are opaque tokens. - We do not transmit any Screen Time data anywhere, and there is no server to transmit it to - We do not access your location, camera, microphone, contacts, or photo library - We do not create an account for a child and collect nothing from a child directly - We do not operate backend servers, and there is no login or cloud sync 3. Where Your Data Lives Everything is stored locally on the parent's device using Apple's on-device storage. There is no account, no login, and no cloud sync. Nothing about you or your children is transmitted to us or to any third party. Uninstalling the app permanently removes all locally stored data. 4. Screen Time Data Never Leaves the Device ScreenBudget uses Apple's Screen Time system (Family Controls) to count time against the allowance and to pause the apps you choose when it runs out. This only happens on a device you have explicitly set up for a child. Apple designed this system so that apps like ours cannot see what you are actually doing. When you pick which apps count, iOS hands the app opaque tokens, not names. We cannot read which apps or websites your child uses, how long they spend in any particular one, or anything about the content. We receive only the fact that a time threshold has been crossed. None of it leaves the device. There is no server to send it to. The tokens, the counters, and the balances live in an app group container shared between ScreenBudget and its two helper extensions, and nowhere else. Apple's rules for this entitlement forbid transmitting Screen Time data off the device, and we do not. 5. Third-Party Services - Apple Family Controls, Device Activity, and Managed Settings — Apple's own Screen Time system, used on-device to count minutes and pause selected apps. Apple's privacy policy applies: apple.com/privacy. No data is shared with us or anyone else. - Apple StoreKit 2 — purchase and subscription processing. Apple handles all payment data. We receive only anonymized transaction receipts. - Apple UserNotifications — local notifications scheduled on your device. Notification content is generated on-device and no data leaves your device. We do not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking libraries. 6. Children's Data ScreenBudget is designed to be set up and operated by a parent or guardian. Child profiles contain a first name or nickname, a minute allowance, and the screen time and chore records the parent logs. All of this data stays on the parent's device and is never transmitted to us or to any third party. Because the app collects no data from a child directly and stores nothing off-device, it does not create an online collection of children's personal information. Data Retention and Deletion - Local data: retained on your device until you delete it in the app or uninstall the app - Subscription and purchase records: managed by Apple 8. Security Data is protected by iOS application sandboxing and, if you have a device passcode set, by iOS data-at-rest encryption. Because nothing leaves your device, there is no server-side attack surface. 9. Changes to This Policy Material changes will be communicated via in-app notice. Your Rights Under GDPR Right of Access (Art. 15): All of your data is visible inside the app. We hold no server-side copy, so there is nothing for us to disclose. Right to Rectification (Art. 16): Edit or correct your data directly in the app. Right to Erasure (Art. 17): Delete items inside the app, or uninstall the app to remove all local data. Right to Restriction (Art. 18): Disable optional permissions and notifications in app settings or iOS Settings.
