Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 30, 2026
Loud Unicorn LLC ("we," "us," "our") built ShowScore. This policy explains what data ShowScore collects, why, and how it is handled.
1. What Data We Collect and Why
Event and Entry Data:
- Event details — show name, categories, divisions, and the scoring rubric the organizer configures. Stored on the organizer's device.
- Entry details — animal or entrant name, category, and the handler or owner name entered at registration. Stored on the organizer's device and shared with the judges in the event.
- Entry photos — if you add a photo to an entry, it is selected from your photo library or taken with the camera and stored inside the app's own storage on the device. Photos are shared with judges in the event over the local network. They are not uploaded to us.
- Scores — the scores each judge submits per entry, and the averaged result. Stored on the organizer's device.
Local Network Play (peer-to-peer):
- When you host or join a nearby game, entry lists, rubrics, photos, and submitted scores is exchanged directly between the devices in the room over Apple's MultipeerConnectivity framework (Wi-Fi or Bluetooth). This traffic is device-to-device. It does not pass through our servers and it is not stored anywhere off-device.
- Your device broadcasts the display name you enter so nearby players can find and identify your session.
Local Device Data:
- App preferences and settings — stored locally via UserDefaults
- Subscription and purchase status — whether you have unlocked paid features, verified locally via Apple StoreKit 2
2. What We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect email addresses, phone numbers, or government-issued identifiers
- We do not collect advertising identifiers (IDFA/IDFV) and do not use advertising SDKs
- We do not sell or share data with advertisers or data brokers
- We do not use analytics SDKs (no Firebase, Amplitude, or Mixpanel)
- We do not use crash reporting services
- We do not access your location or microphone
- We do not operate backend servers and there is no internet sync
- We do not have an account system or login
- We do not process entry fees or any payment other than Apple in-app purchases
3. Where Your Data Lives
Events, entries, photos, and scores are stored locally on the organizer's device. Judges receive the data they need over the local network for the duration of the event. Nothing is uploaded to us. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored event data, including entry photos.
4. Photos and Camera
ShowScore asks for camera and photo library access only when you add a photo to an entry. Access is used solely to attach that photo to the entry. We do not scan your library, do not read photos you did not select, and do not upload photos anywhere. Photos live inside the app's storage on your device and are removed when you delete the entry or uninstall the app.
5. Third-Party Services
- Apple MultipeerConnectivity — direct device-to-device connections for nearby multiplayer. No data is routed through our servers. Requires local network permission, which iOS asks for the first time you host or join.
- Apple StoreKit 2 — purchase and subscription processing. Apple handles all payment data. We receive only anonymized transaction receipts.
- Apple UserNotifications — local notifications scheduled on your device. Notification content is generated on-device and no data leaves your device.
We do not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking libraries.
6. Children's Data
ShowScore is intended for event organizers and judges, who are adults. Junior or youth divisions may include entrants who are minors, and the organizer may enter a young handler's name. That information stays on the organizer's device and is never transmitted to us. The organizer is responsible for obtaining any consent required to record a minor's name or photo, and for handling that data appropriately under the rules of their club or sanctioning body. Contact maxthemoltbot@gmail.com with any concerns.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
- Local data: retained on your device until you delete it in the app or uninstall the app
- Subscription and purchase records: managed by Apple
8. Security
Data is protected by iOS application sandboxing and, if you have a device passcode set, by iOS data-at-rest encryption. Because nothing leaves your device, there is no server-side attack surface.
9. Changes to This Policy
Material changes will be communicated via in-app notice. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
