DATA WE COLLECT Search and Archive Queries: When you search our word archive, we do not collect your search terms. The archive is downloaded to your device and searches happen locally. Pasted Text for Explanation: When you use the "explain this text" feature (Pro only), the text you paste is sent to our servers so we can decode and explain it to you. This is necessary to provide the feature. We do not store pasted text after providing the explanation, and we do not use it for any other purpose. Subscription Status: We collect information about whether you have a Pro subscription. This is used to determine which features you can access. Subscription processing is handled by Apple's App Store; we receive only confirmation of your subscription status. Device Identifier: We use a device-specific identifier to enable family sharing for Pro subscriptions, so a parent and teen can both access Pro features across their devices. Widget Usage: We collect basic information about how often you refresh the daily widget and whether you interact with the interactive reveal feature. This helps us understand if the widget is working as intended. Crash Reports: We collect crash logs if the app crashes. These are used only to fix bugs. DATA THAT STAYS ON YOUR DEVICE Your word search history, bookmarks, and any notes you add are stored locally on your device. They are never sent to our servers. The full word archive is downloaded to your device so you can search it without an internet connection. HOW WE USE DATA We use the data described above only to: - Deliver the explanation feature (pasted text sent to servers) - Enable Pro features and family sharing (subscription status and device identifier) - Fix crashes and improve stability - Understand basic usage patterns to decide where to focus development We do not sell your data to anyone. We do not use your data for advertising or marketing. We do not share your data with third parties except as required by law. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES Subscription processing and family sharing are handled by Apple. Apple's privacy policy governs how they handle subscription data: https://www.apple.com/privacy/ CONTENT MODERATION All slang entries in our archive are manually reviewed by humans. We do not include joke entries, offensive content, or slurs. Our goal is accuracy and real-world usage. CHILDREN AND FAMILY SAFE MODE This app is suitable for all ages. Family Safe Mode is turned on by default, filtering any content we deem not suitable for younger users. Parents can manage this setting and enable family sharing so they and their teens both get Pro access on separate devices. YOUR RIGHTS You can request that we delete any data associated with your account by contacting us (see below). We will delete subscription data from our records and purge any record of pasted text sent for explanation. If you delete the app, all local data on your device is removed. We retain subscription information only as long as your subscription is active. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY We may update this policy.
