Last updated: 2026-09-13 PRIVACY POLICY We believe you should know exactly what happens to your data. This policy describes what SlangSnap does with it: almost everything stays on your device. WHAT WE COLLECT Nothing that identifies you. SlangSnap has no accounts on our servers, no analytics, no advertising identifiers and no crash reporting service. The only request the app makes to us is a download of the slang word list from didyu.app so the dictionary and the daily word stay current. That request carries no identifier, no search terms and nothing you typed. Like any web request it reaches our server from your internet address; we do not store or use that address. WHAT STAYS ON YOUR DEVICE - The word archive, so search works without an internet connection. Searches run on your device and are never sent anywhere. - The Message Decoder (SlangSnap Plus). Text you paste is decoded on your device and never leaves it. - Your favorites, gold words, quiz scores, categories, reminder time, appearance and Family-Safe Mode setting. - Your subscription status, checked with Apple's App Store on your device. If you delete the app, this data is removed with it. ICLOUD SYNC (OPTIONAL) If you choose Sign in with Apple, a small set of your settings (gold words, preferred categories, your onboarding answers, reminder time, appearance) is kept in your own iCloud account so they follow you to your other devices. That data lives in your iCloud, under Apple's privacy policy, and we cannot read it. The Sign in with Apple identifier is stored only on your device to switch this sync on. Skipping sign-in changes nothing else about the app. SUBSCRIPTIONS SlangSnap Plus is sold through Apple's App Store. Apple processes the payment and holds your purchase history; we never see your payment details. Apple's privacy policy governs that data: https://www.apple.com/privacy/ NOTIFICATIONS The daily word reminder is a local notification scheduled on your device. Nothing is sent to us to deliver it. WE DO NOT - Sell your data to anyone. - Use your data for advertising or marketing. - Share your data with third parties. CONTENT MODERATION All slang entries in our archive are reviewed by humans. We do not include joke entries, offensive content or slurs. CHILDREN AND FAMILY SAFE MODE Family Safe Mode is on by default and hides entries not explicitly marked safe. The app collects no personal information from anyone, including children. YOUR RIGHTS Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to export or delete on request; deleting the app removes everything on your device, and you can remove synced settings from iCloud in your device's iCloud settings.
