Last updated: 2026-08-05 PRIVACY POLICY – SLEEP CREATURE Sleep Creature ("the app") is designed to respect your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, where it stays, and how it's used. DATA WE COLLECT Sleep Data: The app reads your sleep history from Apple HealthKit when you first connect it and continues to read new sleep data daily. This data includes sleep start times, end times, and duration recorded by your device's sleep tracking. HealthKit data is required for the app to function and to calculate your rolling 7-day sleep debt. Sleep Focus Schedule: The app reads your device's Sleep Focus automation schedule once during setup to time your wind-down reminder. This schedule is retrieved from your device settings only and is not stored or sent to our servers. Creature Customization: The name you give your creature and any one-time personalization choices are stored on your device only. App Usage: The app does not collect analytics, crash reports, or usage telemetry. We do not know how often you open the app, which features you use, or when you stop using it. WHERE YOUR DATA STAYS HealthKit Data: Stays on your device. We do not receive, store, transmit, or access your sleep data on our servers. Your sleep information never leaves your iPhone or Apple Watch except as Apple's HealthKit framework handles it internally. Creature State: Your creature's current state, appearance degradation, and manual sleep overrides are calculated and stored locally on your device only. Account & Paywall: If you purchase a paid feature through the app's paywall, that transaction is processed entirely through Apple's App Store. We do not store your payment information, email address, or transaction history. Apple handles all billing. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES The app uses only Apple's native frameworks (HealthKit, UserNotifications, WidgetKit). We do not integrate third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. No data is shared with external companies for any purpose. PERMISSIONS EXPLAINED HealthKit (Read): Required to retrieve sleep data that drives the creature's state. Notifications: Used only to deliver your wind-down reminder at the time you've set in Sleep Focus. Calendar/Reminders: Not used by this app. Contacts/Photos: Not used by this app. Location: Not used by this app. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY This app is not intended for children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has used this app, no personal data is retained beyond what appears on that device. YOUR CONTROL You can revoke the app's HealthKit access at any time in Settings > Health > Data Access & Devices. You can delete the app entirely, which will delete all locally stored creature state and customization from your device. You cannot delete individual HealthKit entries through this app—manage your HealthKit data through the Health app. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY We may update this policy to reflect changes in the app's features or Apple's requirements. The "Last updated" date at the top will always show when this policy was last revised. Continued use of the app means you accept any updates.
