Last updated: 2026-08-05 PRIVACY POLICY — TIP DEDUCTION TRACKER Tip Deduction Tracker ("the App") helps tipped workers log daily gratuities and track tax deduction eligibility. This privacy policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and where it is stored. INFORMATION WE COLLECT The App collects the following information that you voluntarily provide: Daily tip entries: The date, amount, and classification (voluntary or automatic) for each tip you log. Shift information: The date and time you access the App to log tips. Occupation code: The occupation classification you select for tax reporting purposes. User contact information: If you choose to enable backup and restore, your Apple ID associated with iCloud. Export data: Any information you generate or export, including monthly summaries and Schedule 1-A formatted reports. The App does not collect your name, address, phone number, or other personal identifying information beyond what you choose to provide for backup purposes. HOW DATA IS USED Your tip entries and summaries are used solely to: Calculate your running deduction total against the $25,000 annual cap (2025-2028). Generate monthly Form-4070-equivalent summaries and year-end exports in Schedule 1-A format. Support phase-out calculations and Form 4137 tracking (Pro version). Enable multi-year archival so you can access historical records. We do not use your tip data for marketing, analytics, or any purpose beyond helping you track and export your deduction records. WHERE DATA IS STORED All tip entries, amounts, dates, and summaries are stored locally on your device by default. No tip data is sent to our servers. If you enable iCloud backup and restore (optional), your tip data and entries are encrypted and synced to your personal iCloud account via Apple's CloudKit framework. You control whether this feature is enabled. iCloud backup is encrypted end-to-end; we cannot access it. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES The App uses only Apple's standard frameworks (CloudKit for optional backup and StoreKit for in-app purchases). We do not share your tip data with analytics providers, advertising networks, or third-party services. DATA RETENTION Your data remains on your device until you delete the App. If you delete the App, all locally stored data is removed. Data in your iCloud account will be retained according to Apple's iCloud storage policies. If you disable iCloud backup, synced data will be removed from CloudKit after 90 days of inactivity. USER RIGHTS AND CHOICES You can disable iCloud backup at any time in the App's settings. You can export your data as a CSV or Schedule 1-A formatted file at any time. You can delete individual entries or all data from the App without restriction. The App does not sell, rent, or share your data. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY We will update this policy if we materially change our data practices. We will notify you through the App if a change is made.
