Last updated: 2026-08-05 WEDPLAY PRIVACY POLICY WedPlay is a real-time multiplayer game app designed for wedding events. This privacy policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding your data. DATA WE COLLECT When you use WedPlay, we collect: Guest name or display name — entered by you or the event organizer when you join a game session via QR code. Game session data — which games you played, your scores, performance metrics, and game activity timestamps. This data is necessary to run the games and display real-time leaderboards during events. Device information — device model, operating system version, and app version. This helps us diagnose crashes and optimize performance. Event metadata — the wedding event you're attending (if provided by the organizer) and table/seating information associated with your QR code scan. This allows us to route you to the correct game session. Optional account data — if you create a WedPlay account (for freemium features or saves), we collect your email address and any profile information you provide. In-app analytics — which features you use, session duration, and tap patterns. We use this to understand user behavior and improve the app. DATA WE DO NOT COLLECT We do not collect photos, videos, or audio from your device without explicit permission. We do not access your contacts, calendar, photos, or location data. ON-DEVICE VS. SERVER STORAGE Game state during active play (current scores, game progression) is synced to our servers in real time to enable multiplayer gameplay across multiple devices at the same table. Your device stores a local cache of recent games for offline reference. Your guest name, scores, and event session data are stored on our servers to power real-time leaderboards and post-event game history. You cannot delete this data retroactively once a game session ends. Display preferences and app settings (sound on/off, notifications) are stored on your device only and are never sent to our servers. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES WedPlay uses only standard Apple frameworks for analytics, crash reporting, and app functionality. We do not integrate third-party ad networks or tracking SDKs. If we add analytics services or crash reporting tools in the future, we will update this policy and clearly disclose what data is shared. FREEMIUM MODEL Our free tier includes all core game features. Paid features (custom game packs, extended event hosting, replay history) require in-app purchase. Apple processes all payments; we do not store credit card data. Your purchase history is stored locally on your device and associated with your Apple ID. YOUR CHOICES You can delete your account and associated data by contacting us. Game session data tied to a specific wedding event may be retained for 90 days after the event for post-wedding statistics, then deleted. You can disable analytics at any time in Settings > WedPlay > Analytics, though some crash data will still be sent to help us maintain app stability. SECURITY We encrypt data in transit using HTTPS. Guest names and scores are not considered highly sensitive; we store them without additional encryption at rest. If you create a user account, your email and password are encrypted. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY WedPlay is intended for adult wedding guests. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If we discover we've collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it immediately. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY We will notify you of material changes to this policy via email or an in-app banner. Continued use of WedPlay after changes means you accept the updated policy.
