Last updated: 2026-08-26 CATGPT PRIVACY POLICY CatGPT analyzes your photos to create a personalized cat persona and responds to your messages. Here's what data we collect and how we handle it. DATA WE COLLECT Photos: When you use CatGPT's on-device analysis feature, we read photos from your Camera Roll using PhotoKit and Apple's Vision framework to build your cat's persona. These photos are never stored by CatGPT on our servers unless you explicitly upload a photo to your cat's profile during onboarding or in settings. Uploaded photos are stored on our servers only to maintain your cat profile across devices and sessions. Messages and Chat History: Every message you send to your cat, and your cat's responses, are sent to and stored on our servers. This includes the chat interface content, reactions, stickers, channels, and other chat data. Persistent Memory: Your cat's memory of facts about you and your cat, including grudges, bond levels, streaks, and other relationship history, is stored on our servers to maintain continuity across sessions and devices. Account Information: If you sign in with Apple, we receive your Apple ID information for account authentication. Sign-in with Apple is optional. We do not request or store your email, phone number, or identity information beyond what Apple provides. User Preferences: Your notification settings, quiet hours, chat themes, widget preferences, and other app settings are stored on our servers. Subscription and Payments: If you subscribe to CatGPT, Apple processes all payment information through App Store Connect. We receive only confirmation that your subscription is active; we do not store payment methods or credit card data. Usage Data: We may collect information about how you use the app to improve service quality and AI response performance. Crash Logs: Apple's frameworks automatically collect crash and diagnostic data to help us identify and fix bugs. DATA THAT STAYS ON YOUR DEVICE The initial analysis of your Camera Roll photos using Vision framework happens entirely on your device. Those photos themselves never reach our servers unless you explicitly upload them. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES CatGPT uses only Apple's native frameworks (PhotoKit, Vision, StoreKit, Sign in with Apple). We do not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. HOW WE USE YOUR DATA We use chat messages, memory, and persona data to generate responses and maintain your cat's personality across sessions. We do not use your data to train public AI models or share it with third parties for marketing. RETENTION We retain your chat history and persistent memory for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, data is deleted from our servers within 30 days. Backup copies may persist for up to 90 days for disaster recovery. YOUR RIGHTS You can export your chat history from the app at any time. You can delete individual messages, clear memory entries, or reset your cat profile. You can request deletion of your entire account and associated data by contacting us. CHILDREN CatGPT is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
