Last updated: 2026-08-05 CHORESNAP PRIVACY POLICY ChoreSnap is a chore tracking app that helps families manage household tasks and allowance payments. We collect and process only the data necessary to make the app work. We do not sell your data to third parties. DATA WE COLLECT Photos and Chore Records When a family member photographs a completed chore within the app, that photo is stored locally on the device. The photo and chore details (task name, completion timestamp) are sent to our servers only when uploaded to request parent approval. Rejected photos are deleted from our servers within 30 days. Family Information To set up a family group, we collect names, email addresses, and phone numbers for family members. We store one email address per account as the account holder identifier. Parents provide phone numbers to receive push notifications for approval requests. This information is used solely to organize chore assignments and send notifications within your family. Chore Data We store task descriptions, due dates, assigned family members, completion status, and approval/rejection history. This data remains linked to your family account and is accessible according to the privacy controls you set (children see only their assigned tasks; parents see all family chores). Subscription and Billing Data For paid accounts, we collect billing email, subscription status, renewal date, and cancellation status. Payment processing is handled by Apple through the App Store; we do not store credit card information. Device Identifiers To send push notifications, we collect your device's push notification token. To display the home screen widget, we store widget configuration locally on your device. ON-DEVICE VS. SERVER STORAGE Photos exist on your device until you choose to upload them for approval. Once uploaded, they are stored on our servers until the approval is marked complete (approved or rejected). Rejected photos are deleted after 30 days. Approved photos are kept for 90 days so parents can reference completed work, then automatically deleted. Chore assignments, task descriptions, and approval history remain on our servers to keep your account synchronized across devices. All data in transit is encrypted. If the app loses internet connection, chores queue locally and sync automatically when connection is restored. PRIVACY FOR FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN ChoreSnap is designed for families managing minor children's chores. Parents act as account administrators and can view all family members' chore activity. Children can see only their own assigned tasks and approval status. We do not collect data directly from children beyond what is necessary to display their chores and submit photos for approval. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES Push Notifications: Apple's push notification service delivers approval notifications to family members' devices. We do not use third-party analytics, advertising networks, or tracking tools. DATA RETENTION Your account data persists for as long as your account remains active. If you delete your account, photos and chore records are deleted within 30 days. Subscription billing records are retained for 7 years to comply with tax requirements. DATA ACCESS AND DELETION You may request access to all personal data we hold about your family account, or request deletion of your account and associated data. Requests should be made through the support channel within the app or by emailing hello@loudunicorn.com with the subject line "Data Request" or "Delete My Account." CHANGES TO THIS POLICY We may update this policy occasionally to reflect changes in the app or legal requirements. We will notify you of material changes via email or through the app before the changes take effect.
