Last updated: 2026-08-05 PRIVACY POLICY FOR DARE OR FOLD Dare or Fold is a local multiplayer card game designed to respect your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect and how we handle it. DATA COLLECTION Dare or Fold collects minimal data: - Game state and scores: When you play, the app stores game history, player names, and scores locally on your device only. This data never leaves your phone or iPad. - Room codes: When you join a game via room code or App Clip, the code is used temporarily to connect to the host device over local network (MultipeerConnectivity) and is not stored on servers or shared beyond that session. - Purchase information: When you purchase the app or expansion packs, the App Store handles all payment processing and receipt verification. We do not access your payment details or see your App Store account information. Apple provides us only with notification that a purchase occurred. The app does not request your name, email, location, contacts, camera, or microphone. It does not track you across other apps or websites. It does not display ads and therefore does not collect data for advertising purposes. ON-DEVICE DATA ONLY All game data stays on your device: - Player names you enter during a session - Game scores and history - Tutorial progress - Content pack purchases and unlocks - Settings and preferences This data is stored locally and deleted only when you delete the app or clear the app's cache. NETWORK ACTIVITY Dare or Fold plays over your local network (WiFi) using Apple's MultipeerConnectivity framework. No gameplay data is sent to our servers or third parties. The game does not require an internet connection to play. When you download expansion packs or content updates, the app may check a content delivery server to fetch new word lists or rule variants. This request logs only that a download occurred; no personal information is transmitted. APP CLIP BEHAVIOR The App Clip allows players to join a game without installing the full app. The App Clip uses the same local network connection (MultipeerConnectivity) as the full app—no data is sent beyond your WiFi network. If you download the full app after using the App Clip, we do not link or sync your previous App Clip session with your device account. IN-APP PURCHASES We offer optional expansion packs (word lists, rule variants) for $1.99–2.99 each. The full game costs $4.99–6.99 as a one-time purchase for the host. All purchases are handled by the Apple App Store. We do not store your payment method or see your transaction history. Apple provides only a receipt confirmation that you own a product. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES Dare or Fold uses only standard Apple frameworks: - Apple App Store (for in-app purchases and App Clip distribution) - MultipeerConnectivity (for local network play) - GameKit (if enabled, for optional Game Center achievements only) We do not use third-party analytics, crash reporting, advertising, or social media SDKs. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY Dare or Fold is designed for all ages and complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act. Because the app does not collect personal information from anyone, this policy applies equally to all users under 13. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY We may update this policy if our practices change.
