Last updated: 2026-08-05 FERMENTCHRON PRIVACY POLICY WHAT THIS POLICY COVERS FermentChron is designed to keep your fermentation data private. This policy explains what information we collect, where it's stored, and how we protect it. WHAT DATA WE COLLECT On Your Device Only FermentChron stores all of your fermentation information directly on your iPhone. This includes batch details for each vessel (name, fermentation type, start and target completion dates, current stage, and custom temperature thresholds), temperature logs from manual entry or Bluetooth-connected sensors, tasting notes and flavor observations you record for each batch, your daily check-in history for the tending streak, weekly review summaries, in-app notes and entries, your fermentation template customizations (including auto-tuned average durations and typical temperature ranges learned from your completed batches), display preferences, unit selections, and notification settings, and information displayed on your lock screen, Dynamic Island, and home screen widgets. This data never leaves your device unless you choose to sync through iCloud. We do not send this data to our servers. Sent to Apple's Servers Only When you purchase or manage a subscription through FermentChron's paywall, Apple processes your transaction. We use Apple's StoreKit framework to verify subscriptions but do not store subscription data on our own servers. BLUETOOTH AND AUDIO INTEGRATION FermentChron can connect to Bluetooth temperature sensors and speakers. All Bluetooth connections are managed by your device's operating system. We do not collect, log, or transmit data about which devices are paired with your phone or what sensor readings you receive beyond what you see in the app. HABITS AND NOTIFICATIONS Your daily check-in streak, grace periods, monthly freezes, and weekly review cards are stored on your device. We do not track which notifications you receive, dismiss, or silence. You can independently disable habit and review notifications while keeping critical temperature and stage alarms active. ANALYTICS AND TRACKING We do not use analytics, advertising networks, or third-party tracking services. Your fermentation data is never sold, shared with advertisers, or used for purposes beyond running FermentChron. ONBOARDING AND TEMPLATES When you first open FermentChron, the app creates a demo vessel and pre-fills a template library so you have working examples. These are created locally on your device and can be deleted at any time. YOUR DATA RIGHTS You own your fermentation data. You can back up through your iPhone's standard backup settings, restore to another device, or delete everything by uninstalling the app. We have no way to access or recover your data once deleted. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY FermentChron is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. POLICY CHANGES We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent version. Continued use of the app means you accept any updated policy.
