Last updated: 2026-08-05 PRIVACY POLICY — FOOD CHALLENGE LOCATOR This privacy policy describes how Food Challenge Locator ("the app") collects and uses your information. DATA WE COLLECT Location Data The app accesses your device location to display your position on the map and to sort nearby food challenges by distance. Location data is used only to power the map and search features and is not transmitted anywhere. You control location access via your device settings and can deny permission at any time; the app will function with manual location entry instead. Search and Filter Activity Your searches, filters (by country, food type, prize, or status), and challenge selections are not collected or transmitted. They remain on your device as part of the normal app session. Saved Challenges Your bucket list of saved challenges is stored only on your device using local storage. It is not synced to any server, shared with us, or shared with third parties. DEVICE AND PURCHASE DATA We do not maintain accounts, databases, or servers. The app's challenge dataset is bundled into the app at build time; no backend infrastructure is involved. Purchase and subscription information (Pro tier via StoreKit 2) is managed entirely by Apple. We do not receive or store your payment details. Apple handles all billing, subscription renewal, and purchase history according to Apple's privacy policies. THIRD-PARTY LINKS The app includes links to Google Maps (for directions and reviews) and to YouTube (to watch famous eater attempts). When you tap these links, you are navigating to Google's and YouTube's services, respectively. We do not control their data practices; please consult their privacy policies for details. WIDGET DATA The widget, which displays your nearest food challenges, is powered by local data only. Widget preferences and displayed challenge data remain on your device. ANALYTICS The app does not transmit analytics, crash reports, or telemetry to us or to third parties beyond Apple's standard crash reporting (which is your choice to enable or disable in your device settings). DATA RETENTION Because data is stored locally and not collected by us, it persists on your device until you delete the app or manually clear your saved challenges. Reinstalling the app resets all local state. CHILDREN The app is not directed to children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided information in violation of this policy, we will delete it upon notification. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY We may update this policy to reflect changes in the app or applicable law. The "Last updated" date will reflect the most recent revision.
