Last updated: 2026-08-05 PRIVACY POLICY Grief Journal Pro ("App") is designed to support your grief journey with privacy and care. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it. DATA WE COLLECT Journal Entries: Your journal entries, including text and the dates you wrote them, are stored on your device. If you enable cloud backup (available to premium subscribers), entries are encrypted and synced to our servers to protect against data loss. Anniversary and Milestone Dates: You provide dates for anniversaries, milestones, and other significant moments to receive reminders. These dates are stored on your device and synced to our servers to enable notifications and progress reports. Memory Vault Photos: Premium subscribers can upload photos to the memory vault. Photos are encrypted in transit and stored on our servers. Photo metadata (upload date, associated journal entry) is retained to generate your monthly progress reports. Account and Subscription Data: We collect your email address to manage your account and verify your subscription status. Payment information is handled entirely by Apple's App Store and is not stored on our servers. Device Information: We collect minimal device data (device type, iOS version, app version) for app stability and performance monitoring. This data is not linked to your identity or journal content. Community Forum Posts: Premium subscribers who participate in the community forum should understand that posts are visible to other members. We moderate for safety and community guidelines. Your display name in the forum is determined by your preference; your email address is never publicly visible. HOW WE USE YOUR DATA Your data is used only to operate the App: sending reminders, generating reports, providing premium features, and monitoring app stability. We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, share it with marketers, or disclose it to third parties except as required by law. The community forum is peer support only, not professional mental health care. Posts are shared with other members as part of this peer experience. ON-DEVICE VS SERVER STORAGE By default, your journal entries and dates remain on your device only. Premium subscribers can opt into cloud backup; disabled syncing in Settings returns to device-only storage. The memory vault, community forum, and progress reports require server storage and are only available to premium subscribers. Canceling your subscription removes access to these features, though local journal entries remain on your device until you delete them. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES The App uses only Apple's App Store framework for subscriptions and payments. We do not integrate third-party analytics, advertising networks, or social media SDKs. CHILDREN The App is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. SECURITY AND DELETION Data is encrypted in transit using TLS and at rest on our servers. You can delete individual entries anytime. Deleting your account removes all server data; local entries remain on your device until manually deleted. No security method is completely secure; we encourage strong passwords. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notification.
