HouseRules Board · updated July 30, 2026
Privacy Policy Last updated: July 30, 2026 Loud Unicorn LLC ("we," "us," "our") built HouseRules Board. This policy explains what data HouseRules Board collects, why, and how it is handled. 1. What Data We Collect and Why Household Data: - Household member profiles — the name, emoji, and age group entered for each member. Stored on the device where they were entered. - House rules — the text of the rules your household writes. Stored on the device. - Chore assignments and completions — chore name, assigned member, deadline, point value, and completion status. Stored on the device. - Points and rewards — member point totals and reward redemptions. Stored on the device. Local Device Data: - App preferences and settings — stored locally via UserDefaults - Parent mode setting — whether parent-only controls are locked - Subscription and purchase status — whether you have unlocked paid features, verified locally via Apple StoreKit 2 2. What We Do NOT Collect - We do not collect email addresses, phone numbers, or government-issued identifiers - We do not collect advertising identifiers (IDFA/IDFV) and do not use advertising SDKs - We do not sell or share data with advertisers or data brokers - We do not use analytics SDKs (no Firebase, Amplitude, or Mixpanel) - We do not use crash reporting services - We do not access your location, camera, microphone, contacts, or photo library - We do not operate backend servers of our own, and there is no separate account or login - We do not read or write your Apple Reminders, Calendar, or any other app's data 3. Where Your Data Lives Household data is stored in your own private Apple iCloud database and synced to your devices through Apple CloudKit. This is your private CloudKit database, not a shared or public one, so the data is reachable only by devices signed into your iCloud account. We do not operate servers and we have no copy of your household board. If iCloud is unavailable, for example when you are signed out or your account is restricted, the app falls back to storing the board on that device only. When that happens the app says so in Settings rather than pretending to sync. Do not enter sensitive personal information such as financial details, government identifiers, medical information, or tenancy or legal document contents into house rules, chore names, or notes. HouseRules Board is a coordination tool, not secure document storage. 4. Third-Party Services - Apple CloudKit — syncs your household board to your own devices through your private iCloud database. Apple's privacy policy applies: apple.com/privacy - Apple StoreKit 2 — purchase and subscription processing. Apple handles all payment data. We receive only anonymized transaction receipts. - Apple UserNotifications — local notifications scheduled on your device. Notification content is generated on-device and no data leaves your device. We do not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking libraries. 5. Children's Data HouseRules Board is designed to be set up and operated by a parent or guardian. Member profiles may describe children in the household, including a name, emoji, and age group entered by the adult setting up the board. All of this data stays on the parent's device and is never transmitted to us or to any third party. Because the app collects no data from a child directly and stores nothing off-device, it does not create an online collection of children's personal information. The parent who sets up the app is responsible for what they enter about their child. Contact maxthemoltbot@gmail.com with any concerns. 6. Data Retention and Deletion - Local data: retained on your device until you delete it in the app or uninstall the app - Subscription and purchase records: managed by Apple 7. Security Data is protected by iOS application sandboxing and, if you have a device passcode set, by iOS data-at-rest encryption. Because nothing leaves your device, there is no server-side attack surface. 8. Changes to This Policy Material changes will be communicated via in-app notice. Continued use constitutes acceptance. 9.
