About HouseRules Board HouseRules Board is a shared living agreement app. Roommates or family members write the house rules together, assign chores with deadlines and point values, track who completed what, and redeem points for household rewards. It is designed for the moment people move in together, so expectations are written down before disputes start. HouseRules Board is built by Loud Unicorn LLC. 2. Who Can Use HouseRules Board HouseRules Board is intended for users aged 13 and older. By using the app, you confirm that you are at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, you represent that you have obtained parental or guardian consent to use the app and agree to these Terms. 3. Permitted Uses - Create a household board and co-author house rules - Add household members with a name, emoji, and age group - Assign chores with deadlines and point values - Complete chores, earn points, and redeem household rewards - Use parent mode to restrict who can edit rules and rewards 4. Prohibited Uses - Creating household content that is illegal, harassing, threatening, or violates third-party rights - Using the app for commercial property management or landlord-tenant agreements - Presenting a board created in the app as a legally binding agreement - Reverse engineering, decompiling, or tampering with the app - Automating or scripting interactions with the app - Sharing paid features with users who have not purchased them - Using the app in ways that violate Apple's App Store Guidelines 5. iCloud Sync The household board syncs through your private Apple iCloud database. Every device signed into your iCloud account sees the same board. Sharing a board with someone using a different iCloud account is not supported yet, so for now a household shares one account or one device. If iCloud is not available the app keeps working and stores the board on that device only. Settings shows which of the two is happening. Data entered while offline is not shared until iCloud is reachable again. 6. Not Legal Advice and Not a Contract HouseRules Board is a household coordination tool, not a legal service. Anything you write in the app is not a legally binding contract, tenancy agreement, or enforceable document. For a binding roommate agreement or any tenancy matter, consult a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction. 7. Premium HouseRules Board is free for small households. An optional auto-renewing subscription unlocks additional household members, PDF export of your rules and chore summaries, and recurring chore rotation. The price and billing period are shown in the app before purchase and are charged to your Apple ID. Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the billing period. Your Apple ID account will be charged within 24 hours prior to renewal. Managing Subscriptions: Cancel anytime in iOS Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions. Cancelling stops future billing but does not refund the current period. Restore Purchases: Tap "Restore Purchases" in app settings on a new device to reactivate your purchase. Refunds: Handled by Apple. Contact Apple Support. We do not process refunds directly. 8. Apple's Standard EULA In addition to these Terms, your use of HouseRules Board is governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA): https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/ 9. User Content You are responsible for the content you add to HouseRules Board. You agree not to add content that is illegal, defamatory, harassing, threatening, or that violates the rights of others. We reserve the right to suspend access if content violates these Terms. 10. Intellectual Property HouseRules Board, including its design, code, graphics, and user interface, is owned by Loud Unicorn LLC and protected by copyright and intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes. 11. Disclaimer of Warranties HouseRules Board is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that: - The app will prevent or resolve household disputes - iCloud sync will be instantaneous or always available - Rules or chore data will be preserved indefinitely - The app is free from bugs or errors 12. Limitation of Liability To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Loud Unicorn LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of HouseRules Board. Our total aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or $10 USD if you have paid nothing. 13. Indemnification You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Loud Unicorn LLC from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses arising out of your use of HouseRules Board, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights or applicable law. 14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles. Disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts in Maricopa County, Arizona, USA. 15. Arbitration Agreement and Class Action Waiver Agreement to Arbitrate: You and Loud Unicorn LLC agree that any dispute arising out of these Terms or your use of HouseRules Board (except intellectual property claims or requests for injunctive relief) will be resolved by binding arbitration under AAA Consumer Arbitration Rules. Class Action Waiver: All proceedings will be on an individual basis only. Opt-Out: You may opt out within 30 days of first use by emailing maxthemoltbot@gmail.com with your name and a clear opt-out statement. 16. GDPR — Additional Terms for EU/EEA Users Data Controller: Loud Unicorn LLC (maxthemoltbot@gmail.com). Legal Basis: Contractual necessity (Art. 6(1)(b)) for core app functionality; consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) for optional permissions. Your Rights: Access, rectify, erase, restrict, port, and object. Contact maxthemoltbot@gmail.com. Data Transfers: No data is transferred to our servers or outside the EU/EEA. All data remains on your device. Supervisory Authority: You may lodge a complaint with your local EU/EEA data protection authority. 17. CCPA/CPRA — Additional Terms for California Residents We do not sell or share your personal information. You have the right to know, delete, and correct. Contact maxthemoltbot@gmail.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising CCPA/CPRA rights. 18. Termination We reserve the right to suspend access to HouseRules Board if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. Uninstalling removes all locally stored data. There is no server-side account to close. 19. Changes to These Terms Material changes will be communicated via in-app notice. Continued use constitutes acceptance. 20.
