Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 19, 2026
Loud Unicorn LLC ("we," "us," "our") built PickleLive Score. This policy explains exactly what data PickleLive Score collects, why, and how it is handled.
1. What Data We Collect and Why
Match & Player Data (core app functionality):
- Player names — entered by you to identify participants on the scoreboard and in match history. Stored locally on your device and, when using Share Live, temporarily in your private iCloud (CloudKit) database.
- Match scores — point-by-point scoring data for each game. Stored locally on your device.
- Match dates and timestamps — used to organize your match history chronologically. Stored locally on your device.
- Match history — all completed matches and series results. Stored locally on your device using SwiftData.
- Scoring preferences — your selected scoring type (rally or traditional), game point target, and match format (best of 3/5/7). Stored locally on your device.
Purchase Status (PickleLive Pro):
- A boolean flag indicating whether you have purchased PickleLive Pro is stored locally on your device using UserDefaults. No financial data or payment details are stored by the app. All payment processing is handled exclusively by Apple through the App Store.
All of the above is entered by you directly and serves no purpose other than powering the features you see on screen.
2. What We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or any account information
- We do not collect location data
- We do not collect device contacts or address book data
- We do not collect photos or camera data
- We do not collect health or fitness data
- We do not collect advertising identifiers (IDFA)
- We do not use analytics SDKs (no Firebase, no Amplitude, no Mixpanel, no third-party analytics)
- We do not use advertising SDKs or share data with ad networks
- We do not use crash reporting services
- We do not operate a backend server or collect data on our own servers
3. Data Storage
Local Device Storage:
All match history, player names, statistics, and preferences are stored exclusively on your device using SwiftData. This data never leaves your device except as described below.
iCloud / CloudKit (Share Live feature only):
When you use the Share Live feature to share a live match with other participants, match state data (scores, player names, current game status) is temporarily written to your private iCloud database via Apple CloudKit. This data:
- Is stored in your own iCloud account, not on Loud Unicorn's servers
- Is accessible only to participants you explicitly invite via a share link or QR code
- Is subject to Apple's iCloud Privacy Policy (apple.com/legal/privacy)
- Requires you to be signed in to iCloud on your device
Apple Watch (WatchConnectivity):
When paired with an Apple Watch running the PickleLive Score Watch app, live game state (scores, serving team, game status) is transmitted locally between your iPhone and Watch over WatchConnectivity. This data does not leave your devices and is not stored persistently on the Watch.
4. Third-Party Services
Apple Services Used:
- SwiftData — local on-device data persistence (no transmission)
- SwiftUI — UI rendering framework
- CloudKit — iCloud-based data sync for Share Live feature (Apple's servers; your private iCloud account)
- WatchConnectivity — local device-to-device communication with Apple Watch
- StoreKit 2 — in-app purchase processing (handled by Apple; no financial data touches our code)
We do not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking libraries.
5. In-App Purchases
PickleLive Score offers an optional one-time purchase, PickleLive Pro ($2.99 USD), processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive, store, or process any payment card data. Apple's purchase and privacy policies apply to all transactions. Your purchase entitlement is verified locally via StoreKit 2 transaction records.
6. Children's Data
PickleLive Score is not directed at or intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. The app contains no account registration and no data transmission beyond what is described in this policy. If you believe a child's data has been collected in error, contact maxthemoltbot@gmail.com.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
All local data is stored on your device. To delete all PickleLive Score data, simply uninstall the app. Uninstalling permanently removes all locally stored match history, player names, and statistics.
To delete individual matches: use the swipe-to-delete gesture in the History tab.
Share Live CloudKit data: Live match records in iCloud are created when you start a Share Live session. To delete them, you can delete your iCloud data via Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > Manage Account Storage on your iPhone.
8. Security
Local data is protected by iOS sandboxing. Share Live data is protected by Apple's iCloud encryption and your Apple ID credentials. We do not operate servers that store your data, so there is no Loud Unicorn-side network security risk.
9. Changes to This Policy
We will notify you of material changes via an in-app notice. Continued use constitutes acceptance.

2. Legal Basis for Processing
We process minimal personal data under the following legal bases (GDPR Article 6):
Contractual necessity (Art. 6(1)(b)): Processing player names, match scores, and match history is necessary to provide the core PickleLive Score service — a real-time pickleball scorekeeping tool.
Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): By entering player names and match data, and by enabling Share Live, you consent to that data being stored locally on your device and, for Share Live, in your private iCloud account.
Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)): Storing your Pro purchase status locally is necessary to provide the features you purchased.
3. Your Rights Under GDPR
Right of Access (Art. 15): You have the right to know what personal data we hold about you. Because all data is stored locally on your device or in your own iCloud account, we do not hold copies of your data on Loud Unicorn servers. You can view all stored data in the app's History tab.
Right to Rectification (Art. 16): You can modify player names and match settings directly within the app.
Right to Erasure / "Right to be Forgotten" (Art. 17): You can delete all your personal data by uninstalling PickleLive Score. This permanently removes all local data. Individual matches can be deleted from the History tab. CloudKit Share Live data can be deleted via your iCloud account settings. There is no Loud Unicorn server-side data to delete.
Right to Restriction of Processing (Art. 18): Because all processing is local and user-initiated, you can restrict processing by simply not entering data into the app.
Right to Data Portability (Art. 20): All data lives on your device. PickleLive Pro users can export match history as a CSV file from the History tab. Contact maxthemoltbot@gmail.com if you need further assistance.
Right to Object (Art. 21): You can object to processing at any time by uninstalling the app.
Right to Withdraw Consent: You can withdraw consent at any time by uninstalling the app, which permanently removes all local data.
4. How to Exercise Your Rights
Email: maxthemoltbot@gmail.com
Response time: We will respond to verified requests within 30 days of receipt. For complex requests, we may extend this by an additional 60 days with notice.

6. International Data Transfers
PickleLive Score stores all data locally on your device or in your personal iCloud account (Apple Inc., USA). Apple's Standard Contractual Clauses govern iCloud data transfers under GDPR. We do not transfer personal data to Loud Unicorn servers inside or outside the EU/EEA.
