Last updated: 2026-08-25 PRIVACY POLICY – SHARED PET CUSTODY MANAGER This privacy policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and where it is stored. DATA WE COLLECT When you use Shared Pet Custody Manager, we collect: Pet Information: Name, breed, age, weight, medical history, medication details (names, dosages, schedules), and veterinary records you upload. Calendar and Schedule Data: Your pet's handoff calendar entries, day-swap requests, approval status, and vacation mode dates. This includes timestamps of when you create, modify, or acknowledge each schedule change. Handoff Logs: Timestamped records of every handoff, including who confirmed receipt, notes about the pet's condition, and handoff checklist items (food, medications, leash, toys) marked complete or skipped. Expense Data: Amounts paid, payment method (which party paid), who split each expense, receipt photos you upload, and settle-up payments between both parties. User Identity: Your Apple ID email address (collected via Sign in with Apple during onboarding). Notifications: Which notifications you've enabled or disabled, and a record of which notifications have been delivered to you. Medication Logs: Times you mark a medication as given or skipped, including the person who made that entry. WHERE DATA LIVES On-Device: Pet photos, receipt photos before you upload them, and your local copy of the shared calendar are stored on your device. Synced to Servers: All pet information, schedule data, handoff logs, expense records, medication records, and notification preferences are synced to iCloud using CloudKit shared zones. This allows both household members to see real-time updates and access the pet's data from any of their devices. Only the two people you've connected to the pet household can access this data. Third-Party Services: We use Sign in with Apple for authentication. Apple does not share your email address with us unless you choose to share it during sign-in. We do not use any other third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. HOW WE USE YOUR DATA We use your data only to operate the app: syncing the schedule between both parties, sending notifications about handoffs and medication reminders, calculating expense splits, and keeping an append-only log of all schedule changes for clarity in disputes. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with anyone except the other person in your pet household (by design). Your data is not used for marketing, profiling, or research. DATA RETENTION Schedule data, logs, and expense records are retained indefinitely so you have a complete history. Pet medical records are retained as long as you maintain your account. If you delete your account, all data is deleted within 30 days. SECURITY Your data is encrypted in transit to iCloud and at rest in CloudKit. Sign in with Apple uses your device's secure enclave for authentication. You are responsible for keeping your Apple ID password and device secure. CHILDREN This app is not intended for children under 13. If you are under 13, please do not use this app or submit any information to it. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date and, if required by law, by sending you a notification.
