Last updated: 2026-08-05 PRIVACY POLICY Shared Pet Custody Manager is designed to help you manage pet custody with others. This policy explains what data we collect, where it lives, and how we protect it. DATA WE COLLECT To operate the app, we collect: Account information: Your email address and phone number, used to invite and connect with other custodians. Pet information: Name, species, breed, birth date, microchip ID, and photo. Calendar data: Events you create or sync via EventKit (iOS Calendar), including dates, times, and descriptions of custody handoffs and vacation mode periods. Swap requests: The full record of day-swap requests, approvals, denials, and comments, including timestamps and notification history. Handoff checklist: Items you create and check off, such as medications, supplies, and behavior notes. Custody log: Append-only timestamped entries recording every handoff, event, and significant custody action. Vet records: Veterinarian name, clinic address, phone, medical history summaries, vaccination records, prescription details, and photos of records or paperwork. Expense data: Costs you log (vet bills, food, supplies), corresponding receipt photos, payment method used for internal tracking only, and settle-up history. Usage data: Feature usage patterns and error logs, used to improve the app. DATA STORAGE AND SYNCING On-device storage: Your local calendar integration with EventKit remains on your device only. The app stores a local cache of shared data for offline access. Server storage: Calendar events, swap requests, custody log entries, vet records, and expense data are synced to our servers so other custodian(s) can access them in real time. Receipt photos and vet record images are uploaded to our servers. Subscription status and billing information are handled by Apple and stored in our systems for access control. Data is retained for the life of your account plus 30 days after deletion, in case you need to recover information. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES We use Apple's App Store for subscription billing and receipt validation. Apple's privacy policy governs subscription data. We do not share your personal data with third-party analytics, advertising, or data brokers. SECURITY AND LEGAL DESIGN Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. The append-only log is intentionally immutable—entries cannot be edited or deleted, only added—to serve as a valid legal record in custody matters. We do not access, review, or share any of your data except as required by law. When law enforcement requests your data, we will seek a court order first where legally possible. ACCOUNT DELETION AND DATA RIGHTS You can export your data as a PDF at any time. You can request deletion of your account and associated data.
