Privacy Policy Last updated: August 5, 2026 Loud Unicorn LLC ("we," "us," "our") built Spades. This policy explains exactly what data Spades collects, why, and how it is handled. Spades has no accounts, no sign-up, and no servers of our own. The app makes no network requests to Loud Unicorn LLC. 1. What Data We Collect and Why Game Session Data (core app functionality): - Player names or nicknames entered at game setup. Used to label seats and show whose turn it is. Stored locally on your device. - Game state: your hand, bids, tricks taken, bags, nil status, and running score. Stored locally on-device for the duration of a game. In local or online multiplayer, moves are exchanged only with the other players in your match; they are not stored on our servers. - Local multiplayer (host and join over the same network): when you host or join a nearby game, your device advertises a short room code and your chosen display name over your local network so nearby players can find and join your table. This data never leaves your local network and is not stored anywhere. - Game Center identity (online multiplayer only): your Game Center display name is visible to the other players in your match. Matchmaking is handled by Apple's Game Center. - Stats and streaks: games played, games won, nil bids attempted and made, bags taken, daily challenge results, current and best play streaks. Stored locally using UserDefaults for the in-app Stats screen. - Settings and preferences: game rules, card and table themes, appearance, and reminder preferences. Stored locally using UserDefaults. Notifications: - If you enable the daily challenge reminder, Spades schedules a local notification on your device. Local notifications are created and delivered entirely on-device. We do not operate a push server and we never receive a device token. 2. What We Do NOT Collect - We do not collect your name, email address, or phone number - We do not operate any servers, and no game data is ever sent to us - We do not use analytics SDKs of any kind (no Firebase, no Amplitude, no Mixpanel) - We do not use advertising SDKs or share data with ad networks - We do not track your location - We do not collect biometric data - We do not collect advertising identifiers such as IDFA or IDFV - We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites 3. Data Storage All game data, stats, and settings are stored locally on your device. Spades does not use cloud sync. Uninstalling the app permanently removes all locally stored data. 4. Third-Party Services - Apple App Store / StoreKit: in-app purchase processing (Apple's privacy policy applies) - RevenueCat: manages in-app purchase entitlements. RevenueCat receives purchase receipt data and a randomly generated anonymous app user ID. It does not receive your name, email, or Apple ID. Children's Data Spades is a general-audience card game. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. Data Retention and Deletion Local data is stored on your device until you uninstall the app. Uninstalling Spades permanently deletes all locally stored data, including stats and streaks. 7. Nearby multiplayer traffic is exchanged directly between devices on your local network using Apple's Multipeer Connectivity framework. Online multiplayer traffic is relayed by Apple's Game Center. 9. Changes to This Policy We will notify you of material changes via an in-app notice. Continued use of Spades after the effective date of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. 10. Legal Basis for Processing Contractual necessity (Art. 6(1)(b)): Processing display names and game state is necessary to provide the Spades game experience, including nearby and online multiplayer. 3. Your Rights Under GDPR Right of Access (Art. 15): Your data is stored on your device. We do not hold copies on our servers. Right to Erasure, also called the "Right to be Forgotten" (Art. 17): Uninstall the app to delete all local data. International Data Transfers Spades stores game data locally on your device. Purchase entitlement data is processed by RevenueCat in the United States with appropriate contractual safeguards.
