Data We Collect Speed Knit collects the following information to provide its core functionality: Timing Data: When you use Speed Knit, the app records timing information for each row or section you knit. This includes the start time, end time, and duration of your knitting sessions. Project Information: You can optionally enter details about your projects, including yarn weight, needle size, stitch count, and project notes. This information helps the app estimate completion dates and track your speed across different materials. Device Information: The app collects basic device identifiers and iOS version information to enable cross-device syncing and ensure the app functions properly on your device. On-Device vs. Cloud Storage Speed Knit uses two types of storage: On-Device Storage: Your raw timing data and project details are stored locally on your device. This data remains on your device and is not automatically sent anywhere unless you choose to sync across devices. Cloud Sync: If you enable iCloud sync (via your Apple ID), Speed Knit syncs your timing and project data across your Apple devices using Apple's CloudKit service. This allows you to access your projects and timing data on multiple devices. Apple's privacy policy governs the protection of this data while in transit and at rest. We do not operate our own servers and do not store your data on third-party servers outside of Apple's services. Third-Party Services Speed Knit uses only standard Apple frameworks and does not integrate third-party analytics, advertising, or data collection services. Your data is not shared with any third parties. Data Usage We use the timing and project data you create solely to: - Display your knitting sessions and project progress within the app - Calculate speed comparisons and completion estimates - Enable cross-device syncing if you opt in We do not sell, rent, or share your data with anyone. We do not use your data for marketing or behavioral advertising. Children's Privacy Speed Knit is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with information through the app, we will delete that information promptly. Data Retention Your data remains in Speed Knit indefinitely until you delete it. If you delete the app, your on-device data is removed. If you use iCloud sync and later turn it off, your data remains on your other synced devices but stops syncing from that point forward. Your Rights You have the right to access, correct, and delete your data at any time directly within the app. You can export your timing and project information if you wish to move it elsewhere. Security We take reasonable steps to protect your data. Your on-device storage is protected by your device's built-in security. If you enable iCloud sync, your data is encrypted in transit and protected by Apple's infrastructure. Changes to This Policy We may update this privacy policy occasionally. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date and releasing a new version of Speed Knit.
