OVERVIEW This privacy policy explains how TrivPub ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the TrivPub iOS application. 2. DATA WE COLLECT When you use TrivPub, we collect the following information: Game Activity Data: The trivia questions you answer, your answers, your score, game duration, and which team or player account submitted answers. This data is essential to how TrivPub works—hosting games, displaying live scores, and determining winners. Host Setup Information: If you host a trivia game, we collect the game name, number of teams, start time, and your host identifier (stored locally on your device and sent to our servers only when you start a game). Team and Player Information: When a team joins a game via QR code, we collect the team name and the device identifiers of devices joining that game session. This allows real-time synchronization of answers and scores across all players in a single game. Device Information: We collect the device model, iOS version, app version, and a persistent device identifier used to sync your game data and settings across sign-ins on the same device. Optional Account Data: If you create an account to track your game history or access premium features, we collect your name, email address, and account authentication credentials. Analytics: We collect anonymized data about app crashes, feature usage (for example, how often the QR code join feature is used, or which trivia categories are played most), and device performance metrics. This data does not include your game answers or scores and is used only to improve app stability and features. 3. WHAT STAYS ON YOUR DEVICE The following data is stored only on your iOS device and is never sent to our servers: - Local game history (past games you've hosted or played, accessible only in the app) - Your preferred settings and app preferences - Cached trivia questions 4. WHAT WE SYNC TO SERVERS To deliver the core TrivPub experience, the following data is sent to our servers: - Active game data (questions, answers, scores) while a game is in progress - Your account information (if you have created an account) - Trivia category preferences (to personalize game selection) - Game history tied to your account (for past games tracked to your profile) - Crash reports and app performance logs Data synced to servers is used only to power live multiplayer games, store your account information, and improve app reliability. We do not sell this data to third parties. 5. DATA RETENTION Game session data is deleted 90 days after the game ends, unless you have a paid account, in which case we retain your game history indefinitely for your review. Your device identifiers and account information are retained as long as your account exists. If you delete the app, your device-local data is removed immediately; your account data on our servers will be deleted upon request. 6. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES TrivPub uses only Apple's standard frameworks for functionality such as push notifications and analytics. We do not use third-party advertising networks or data brokers. We do not integrate with external analytics platforms. 7. DATA SECURITY We use industry-standard encryption (TLS 1.2 or higher) for data in transit. Data at rest on our servers is encrypted. However, no security measure is 100% guaranteed. 8. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY TrivPub is not intentionally designed for children under 13. If we discover a user under 13 has provided personal information, we delete that data immediately. 9. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY We may update this policy occasionally. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date and, if substantial, by prominent notice in the app. 10.
