Last updated: 2026-08-05 PRIVACY POLICY WakePhase is designed to prioritize your sleep privacy. We minimize data collection and keep your sleep data on your device. This policy explains what information WakePhase accesses, how it is used, and what we do not collect. HEALTH DATA AND SLEEP INFORMATION WakePhase accesses your HealthKit sleep stage data after you grant permission. This data—including your sleep stages (awake, light, core, deep) recorded by your device each night—is used only to: - Identify the lightest sleep phase within your 30-minute wake window - Time your alarm to sound when you are most alert - Display sleep context and wake-time recommendations in the app All HealthKit data stays on your device. We do not send sleep data, sleep metrics, trends, or any derived information to our servers or any external service. HealthKit access is managed entirely by iOS. You can revoke permission at any time in Settings > Health > Data Access & Devices. ALARM SETTINGS AND PREFERENCES Your alarm configuration—wake time, wake window duration, enabled/disabled status, and any Shortcuts automation rules—is stored locally on your device only. These settings are never sent to external servers. If you enable iCloud sync for WakePhase (optional, configured at the app level in Settings), your alarm settings may be synced to your iCloud account with end-to-end encryption. This is your choice. Disabling it in Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > Apps keeps all data local to your device. USAGE AND BEHAVIOR DATA We do not collect analytics about how you use WakePhase. We do not track alarm trigger events, wake times, alarm dismissals, snoozes, or any sleep-related behavior. We do not log app sessions, crashes, or user actions. Your interaction with the app remains your own. PAYMENT AND SUBSCRIPTIONS WakePhase offers alarm functionality through a paywall model managed by Apple's App Store. When you make a purchase: - Apple processes your payment and secures your payment method - You own your transaction and receipt - We receive only confirmation that a purchase was valid, the purchase type, and the date We do not store, access, or have visibility into your payment card, Apple ID password, or any sensitive billing information. All payment handling is Apple's responsibility according to their privacy policy. Manage your subscriptions in Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions. BACKGROUND OPERATION WakePhase runs in the background overnight to ensure your alarm triggers reliably. This background process: - Executes entirely on your device - Does not transmit device identifiers, location, or notification events to external servers - Respects your Do Not Disturb settings while ensuring alarms still fire at your wake time Your iOS device logs that WakePhase was active in the background (visible in Settings > Battery > Battery Usage). This is standard iOS system behavior and does not involve our involvement. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES AND LIBRARIES WakePhase integrates only Apple system frameworks: HealthKit, UserNotifications, BackgroundTasks, Shortcuts integration, and StoreKit. We do not use third-party analytics platforms, advertising networks, crash reporting services, or any SDKs that track device identifiers or user behavior.
